Keeping your metabolic levels going strong can make a real difference to the rate at which your food is broken down and harvested into energy.

To help boost your metabolism, try incorporating the following into your daily activities:

Eat plenty of vegetables: spinach, kale, red peppers and broccoli
Opt for lean proteins: eggs, tofu, fish, chicken and turkey.
Avoid sugars: this will help to keep your blood sugar stable and your metabolism working
Introduce natural fat burning foods: cayenne, hot peppers, ginger, mustard seeds, green tea, citrus fruits and apple cider vinegar.

Most importantly, resist the temptation to snack. Instead try to split your meals over 5-6 small courses of 300 calories. This will help stabilise your blood sugar and prevent cravings.
